What is Botox / Xeomin?

FDA-approved Botox and Xeomin are minimally invasive medical aesthetic cosmetic injectables that soften moderate to severe facial lines and wrinkles that develop as we age.

Yes, Botox / Xeomin is a toxin, but when doctors use it correctly and in small doses, it can have benefits.

Cosmetic botulinum toxin therapy, aka neurotoxin injectables, works to help diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by paralyzing the muscles underneath.

Botulinum toxin is extremely dangerous. However, when appropriately used in a therapeutic context, it is safe and has few side effects.

Manufacturers make Botox / Xeomin injections with very small doses of Botulinum toxin.

Cosmetic Uses

The primary use of medical aesthetics Botox / Xeomin is reducing the appearance of facial wrinkles.

The effects are temporary, lasting 3–12 months, depending on the type of treatment.

Botox cosmetic treatments are available at Atlantic Medical Group and Botox / Xeomin medical and cosmetic treatments are available at Deluxe Aesthetics (offered at Xcell Medical Group by our provider, Jane Hoashi MD.)

Chronic Migraine Uses

Botox / Xeomin are prescription medical aesthetics that are injected to prevent headaches in adults (18+) with chronic migraine, who have 15 or more days each month with headaches lasting four or more hours each day.

Botox / Xeomin treatments are affordable, completely safe, have been thoroughly tested, and are approved by the FDA.

“I’ve been a headache/migraine sufferer for over 10 years. I was averaging about four to five headaches a week and used a variety of medications to help prevent migraines, as well as using OTC medication when needed. I tried the gamut of migraine meds, which would initially help, but after a few weeks, stopped. Dr. Hoashi suggested I try Xeomin injections for my migraines. I was initially worried about the pain of the injections, but it was minimal, if any pain at all. The procedure lasted maybe 15 minutes.

I am over one month in since my injections and my migraines have decreased to maybe two a week with less intensity! I can’t believe I finally found something that actually helps! I actually get warning that I’m getting a migraine and I am able to stop them with OTC medications before they get out of hand. It feels so great to have my life back from migraine pain!

I would HIGHLY recommend getting Xeomin treatments for migraines. Dr. Hoashi is very thorough with the exam and in the treatment process. The staff at Deluxe Aesthetics and Xcell Medical Group are amazing and truly care about my progress as well.”

How often can you get Botox injections?

Although Botox / Xeomin is effective at temporarily blocking the communication of nerves, it is just that: temporary.

Months after the treatment, you will start to notice the return of old facial wrinkles. The wrinkles will, however, become less pronounced with regular treatment.

The number of units that are used is just one aspect that affects the results of your treatment. The results will wear off more quickly if a smaller amount is injected into the target area.

During your initial treatment, to see how well the treatment works on you, we will start you with a low dose. If the response is positive, we may increase the dosage.

As the effects typically last around three to four months, it is usually okay to receive a follow-up treatment within this window.
